My first painting after being dormant for almost FOUR years. This was done in acrylic. I almost used up all my green paint with this, with all the number of layers i painted on trying to achieve an 'oil' effect. I'm more adept with oil, but since it is more a hassle to get my hands on thinner or kerosene here in Sing, i opted for acrylic. This painting took me three hours non-stop to finish, using up most of my time making the stones look at least semi-real.Afterwards, i felt happy doing this. Really happy. In fact, if you were here when i finished this painting, you would see me grinning, smiling like a kid. It felt like an affirmation on my part, that YES I'M BACK!! More so since it took me 3 wks to finally have the courage to hold a paintbrush. Yeah... kinda took the long route, all because i felt for a while that i have lost my touch.
But i'm thrillingly glad i hadn't. ^_^

wow.. nice painting!!! i wish im that good.. been dormant for 10 years now.. haha
Looks amazing, and only under three hours!
Just one question though, with the stones... Where's the light source?
hehehe... thanks!
it's supposedly in broad daylight shaded in some parts by the surrounding foliage and grass... so the sun is shining ahead (think mid-day afternoon) with the stones reflecting light on the exposed parts.
at least that's what my perception was ^_^
