A place close to my heart

Boys fishing in Patar reef flat

My first watercolor painting, again after four years ^_^. This painting has been on my to-do list since December of 2005, but only got to do so while being a bum in Sing. Anyway, this one took a longer time since i needed to wait for layers of colors to dry up before adding another layer. I'm relatively new with this medium -- for a long time i was 'scared' of using watercolor coz they always end up messed up. The difference with this and acrylic is that you have less control of the flow of the paint on your canvas, and you have to be more patient.

Ah... PATIENCE, a virtue i'm just acquainting myself with.

BTW, Patar is a town in Bolinao, Pangasinan. One of my dream getaway spots given that it's not so crowded (tourists), and you are more in touch with nature (seascapes, caves, sweet mangoes) than with bars/clubs or KTVs. Yes, the only resemblance i can say it has with Boracay is the white sands. Plus, you have more opportunity to explore marine (intertidal) life during low-tide given it's wide reef flat.

Hmm... all this blogging makes me want to put Patar up my list of places to visit once i get back to Pinas. Lots of memories here ^_^
